Calendars.com’s Favorite Places

Disneyworld!! Period!! The happiest place on Earth! The family and I are always talking about when we’re going back again and again! We still sing songs and tell stories all the time about our past trips!  -Steve, Customer Service

The great state of Texas! -Jay, Programmer

Arizona.  For its varying, incredibly beautiful landscapes, saguaro as tall as trees, and xeriscaped lawns. It’s also a short hop to California, Nevada, Mexico. As a teen and young adult I spent many a summer in the Phoenix area visiting family. Even at 124 degrees I still loved it.  Hey, it’s a dry heat! -Jessica, Merchandising

Mine is wherever I am relaxing with my family. It might be our back yard, a friend’s house, or a museum in another city. As long as I’m with them that place is my favorite. -Robert, Marketing

One of my favorite places to be in America is the San Marcos River sitting in a tube. Nothing is better than enjoying great scenery, good company, and lots of laughs. -Jordan, Customer Service

My favorite place in America is Redfish Bay in Aransas Pass, TX. There’s nothing like waking up early, getting on the boat, and then watching the sunrise with a fishing pole in your hand. Pure bliss! -Sarah, Marketing

Anna Maria Island, FL. This little known stretch of beach south of Tampa is the most pristine and beautiful place in America I have visited thus far. The water is always calm, clear, and turquois and the sand is powdery like walking on flour. There are no big hotels which leaves the you with plenty of room and they have a restaurant you can walk up to and eat at with an ocean view before you go back to some more sunbathing and relaxing. -Dennis, Analytics

My favorite summer place is the San Diego County Fair (formerly known as the Del Mar Fair). It organizes and entertains each year in June. Being from Ohio the fair is in our Midwest blood. Going to the fair was a part of growing up and being with family enjoying food and fun times. I moved from Ohio at the age of 12 to San Diego, CA and having been making my way to the fair each June ever since. For many years I went with my parents and sisters, sometimes later with out of state relatives and now I go with own family. I look forward to enjoying it through my children’s eyes and watch them grow to love it just as I did growing up back in Ohio. I enjoy recalling my childhood memories and enjoy helping to create new ones that I can look back on someday.

Sante Fe, NM. It is such a peaceful place, I can just feel at peace.

My favorite place is my home just watching flowers grow, observing nature and activities on the lake. However, we’ve traveled to many beautiful places in the US with more on our bucket list. Must admit we’ve seen gorgeous scenery in every state we’ve visited. Our National and State Parks are fabulous with lots of great hiking. We loved Niagara Falls, especially on a sunny day.

My favorite place is my parent’s home, dining al fresco on a summer evening. Their gates are lined with honeysuckle and the scent of the blooms hangs heavy in the air. As it gets dark, fireflies twinkle in the yard. Gathering around a picnic with the family, eating ice cold watermelon…it doesn’t get any better.

My favorite place has to be Benbrook Lake, near Fort Worth, Texas. I remember going there to my granddaddy’s little property. He had a lot that had all kinds of fruit trees and bushes….My absolute favorite were the blackberries right off the bush…Yummy! All we had to do is walk down a small hill and his boat slip was right there. Then my Mom, my Granddaddy, and I would take his little fishing boat out into the lake and we’d spend the morning out there fishing and playing and just having a wonderful time! Then we’d come back in for lunch on the shore and a lot of the time spend the afternoon fishing from the shore. (By that time, it was way too hot to be out in the middle of the lake!). Some of the memories are a bit fuzzy because I was so young, but I do remember it! One of the funnier memories I have of that place is that I would love to fish and wanted to do that all the time, but whenever I would catch one and we’d reel it in, I was terrified of it flopping around on the ground! I would scream and hide behind my Mom. Even after all these years past, that lake property is still my absolute favorite place in America!

We love Jellystone Park in Ashland, NH! I actually think I enjoyed it more with the kids than Disney World because it was so relaxing! We have such a great time and have gone back three years in a row now. It’s a lot of fun.

My favorite place to visit on the 4th of July is the cemetary where my father is buried – I love the flags that are on the graves, It is a good reminder of how lucky we in America are, and another chance to be thankful for all who have gone before us. I do not have to see the fireworks but just hearing them makes me more grateful for our freedoms.

  14. Rich Moore 25. Jun, 2011 at 12:09 am #

Gettysburg PA. I have never been there but I do want to go there someday. I love to hear the stories from different folks when I ask “Have you ever been to Gettysburg?” It must be the most mystical and moving places in the world.

My favorite place is Orange County, NY. The mountains are breath taking, especially in the fall.

My favorite place would be Lake of the Ozarks, Missiouri, I have had such a wonderful time during the 4th of July holiday enjoying friends and family, great food and the beauty of this part of America.. The home firework displays along the lake were remarkable and amazing what a beautiful site to watch the fireworks shooting up in the air and the reflection of them on the water. It makes me proud to be an American and celebrate this country. I am going to make this my vacation spot every year.

I feel so at peace and relaxed at our lakefront property in Cheboygan, Michigan!
Someday, our log home will sit facing the lake, but for now I just walk in the woods and imagine that day!!

Yellowstone National Park. One of the few places I can actually see geologic processes taking place in a human timescale. Puts humanity in perspective for me – makes me remember that the world was going on before us and will continue after we’re gone.

My favorite place is Ducan Nebraska it is close to Columbus Nebraska. Every year we go to the cabin which is on Duncan Lake a private lake and we make campfires and have smores and watch the beauty of the fireworks. We also fish and go on boat rides and get together with family and friends and enjoy the beauty of God’s beautiful country and get out of the city life for a change.

I Agree with the comments for the state of Texas! Been to San Marcos tubing, fishing on Benbrook lake every weekend and just celebrating the 4th of July anywhere in Texas is huge! Just like the state.

My favorite place is Texas and we visit every year! I love the beaches and San Antonio’s riverwalk. If I had to give a certain area of the state it would be in the fields of bluebonnets along the highway to the LBJ park and Fredricksburg.

Mississippi is a good place to be. Forget the hmidity, which is what one thinks of when they think of the south, but the people have hospitility and time for each other, they raise their kids to be polite, and they always have good southern food ready when you come!

  31. Carole 28. Jun, 2011 at 12:49 pm #

There is nothing more tranquil or uplifting than sitting on the beach at South Padre Island watching the seabirds swoop and glide as the waves dance toward the shore.

Anywhere on the back of a good trail horse. Every place has beauty to be found in this country. Being on a good trail horse just makes it that much more beautiful.

The Bill Archer Dog Park off Hwy 6 in Houston, Texas. They have a big dog & small dog park completely fenced in with ponds. I love taking my Dachshund & Jack Russell who can’t normally be off leash & let them play with the other dogs. My Dachshund loves water & is infatuated with the pond. It is pretty, peaceful with other fellow dog lovers. We just rescued a Chiweenie I can’t wait to take him too:)

Nothing beats watching/playing with my two young boys at the neighborhood splash pad (Herriman, UT)! Running around the water fountains and sprayers with huge smiles and squeals of delight is what summer is all about!
