Yorkshire pudding isn’t anything like the creamy-textured pudding you’re probably thinking of. Think of it as a combination of a popover (but baked in a pan, not individual cups) and a soufflé, as Yorkshire pudding will deflate soon after you take it out of the oven.

A dish that originated in Yorkshire, England, Yorkshire pudding is made from a batter consisting of flour, eggs, butter and milk. The batter is poured over roast beef or prime rib drippings, baked in the oven and served either before or with a meal of roast beef and gravy.
