Glen Bell Dies at 86

American entrepreneur and Taco Bell founder, Glen Bell died on January 16, 2010. Bell played an instrumental role in the development of the fast food industry inCalifornia. After opening and selling a variety of food stands and drive-thrus, Bell introduced Taco Bell to the public in 1962. The business became a franchise in 1964, and has since grown intoAmerica’s leading Mexican fast-food chain.

Bell sold his 868 Taco Bell restaurants to PepsiCo in 1978 for $125 Million. The business has expanded to 5,600 restaurants, 350 franchises, and 150,000 employees. Today, we celebrate the life of a man who was an innovator, an entrepreneur, and a family man, Glen Bell.
