March 10 is Chuck Norris’ Birthday!
Chuck Norris was born Carlos Ray Norris on March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Wilma and Ray Norris. The only person who cried was the doctor. No one slaps Chuck Norris.
Chuck Norris joined the Air Force in 1958 and was stationed in South Korea at Osan Air Base. This is where he began his martial arts training, specifically Tang Soo Do. When he left the Air Force, he became a karate teacher and opened upwards of 30 karate studios. Chuck Norris invented the martial art of Chun Kuk Do, which expands upon Tang Soo Do and draws elements from other fighting styles.
In 1969, Norris began making film appearances, specializing in karate fight sequences, and then made his transition to television. He is most known for his time spent as the lead actor in Walker, Texas Ranger, which lasted eight years.
In 1997, Chuck Norris became the first man in the Western Hemisphere to become an 8-Degree Black Belt Grand Master. Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks are the second leading cause of death worldwide, after heart attacks; most of which were caused by fear of a roundhouse kick.
Currently, Chuck Norris is an avid supported of multiple charities including: the Make-a-Wish Foundation, United Way, the U.S. Veteran’s Administration, and Kickstart, which teaches martial arts to middle school students.
